This page is for couples getting married in Florence who are looking for somewhere to hold the reception. It is not about landscapes: it is about timings, seats, prices and beds, the things that actually decide whether a venue works for your day. The Vecchio Borgo di Inalbi is in Impruneta, in the hills south of the city, and for years it has hosted couples who hold the ceremony in town and come here for the party.
Ceremony in Florence, reception at Inalbi: a typical day
The legally binding marriage, civil or religious, takes place in Florence (Palazzo Vecchio's Sala Rossa, a church in the centre) or at Impruneta town hall. Inalbi has no registrar: what we offer here is the symbolic ceremony, including American-style, with a celebrant, chairs on the lawn and vows exchanged in front of your guests. Many couples do both: the signing at the town hall in the morning with the witnesses, the symbolic ceremony here in the afternoon in front of everyone.
A schedule we see often, and that holds up well:
- 11:00 – 12:30 ceremony in Florence, photos in the city
- 13:00 – 13:30 guests arrive at Inalbi, park inside the estate
- 13:30 aperitif buffet on the lawn, in front of the panoramic pool
- 15:00 lunch in the hall or under the gazebo, depending on season and numbers
- 18:00 cake cut in the park, then music
- at the end, those sleeping here go up to their rooms; the others are back in the city in half an hour
With an afternoon ceremony the whole schedule shifts to an evening reception. Either way we tell you straight away which timings are realistic: the travel time between Florence and the hills is the variable that most often gets underestimated.
How many guests, and in which spaces
Inalbi hosts from 20 to 150 guests. The heart of it is the hall, 100-110 seats, which opens on three sides towards the hills: in summer you eat with the walls open, as if in the garden; in bad weather it closes completely and is air-conditioned. For the aperitif there is the lawn by the pool and, if it rains, two indoor rooms. For larger numbers we add the covered outdoor gazebo. The open bar and dancing are in the garden in front of the hall, with our own sound system; closing time is agreed when you book, usually between midnight and 2 am.
Parking is private, inside the estate, with a valet: guests don't have to hunt for a space along the road. The venue is accessible for guests with reduced mobility. One thing to know in advance: the estate can host more than one event on the same day; if you want exclusive use, ask for it explicitly in your quote.
What it costs and what is included
The price is built on the menu: from 80 to 100 euros per guest, depending on courses and wines. The use of the venue is included, so there is no venue hire fee on top. The package is genuinely complete: aperitif buffet, floral arrangements, the wedding cake we make, estate wines and soft drinks, open bar after dinner, the couple's suite for the first night. Left out, and quoted separately or with suppliers we can recommend: music, photography and the guests' rooms. Cocktails and spirits beyond the standard open bar should be agreed in advance, so there are no surprises on the final bill. Payment is in two deposits plus the balance.
The kitchen is ours; we don't work with outside caterers. The menu is Tuscan and short supply chain: the extra virgin olive oil and the Chianti Colli Fiorentini DOCG are made on the estate. We prepare gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan menus and a dedicated children's menu. The minimum is 20 guests, with no surcharge below the threshold.
Where out-of-town guests sleep
This is the point that weighs most in Florence: city-centre hotels on May and September weekends are expensive and fill up early. The estate has around 15-20 rooms and apartments in the restored farmhouses. Rooms are for couples; the three-room apartments sleep up to four and suit families with children or groups of friends. Those who stay have breakfast here the next morning and leave without rushing; those who prefer the city are 25 minutes from the centre.
Getting here
Via delle Terre Bianche 32, Impruneta. From the centre of Florence you leave through Porta Romana towards Galluzzo and climb towards Impruneta: about 25 minutes. From the A1 motorway the exit is Firenze Impruneta, 15 minutes. From Florence airport (Peretola) about 35 minutes, from Pisa airport about an hour and a quarter. Arriving by train at Santa Maria Novella, the simplest option is a taxi or private driver; for groups we can put you in touch with a shuttle service.
