At an agriturismo the wedding meal is not an outside service that turns up in vans: it is the house kitchen working for you. At Inalbi we make the menu ourselves, with the Grifoni family's cooks, the oil from the mill and the wine from the vineyard you can see from the hall. This page explains how it is built, what goes into it and what it costs, so you arrive at the site visit with the right questions.
How the menu is built
We don't have a price list of closed packages. We start from a base proposal and shape it with you through three choices: how many courses (three to five), which dishes among those in season, how rich the aperitif. Those three choices give the per-person price, which sits between 80 and 100 euros and includes the use of the venue, service, the estate's wines, soft drinks, the open bar, the cake we make and the floral arrangements. There is no venue hire fee to add. Minimum 20 guests, maximum 150.
A typical spring-summer wedding menu looks like this:
- Aperitif buffet on the lawn by the pool: simple nibbles and, if you like, the starters served here too, with Tuscan crostini and cured meats
- First courses: the traditional dishes, from pappa al pomodoro to ribollita in the cold months, to fresh pasta
- Main course: Impruneta's peposo (slow-cooked beef in Chianti), tagliata, roasts, with seasonal vegetables
- Wedding cake made by us and desserts
- Open bar after dinner in the garden in front of the hall
- Chianti Colli Fiorentini DOCG, white or Grifo Rosa rosé, Vermentino Spumante Brut for the toast, Vin Santo with dessert: all from the estate. Soft drinks, water, coffee
In autumn and winter the menu changes: soups, game and November's new oil come in. If there is a family dish you want on the table, tell us: if it's Tuscan we know how to make it, if it isn't we'll find a way.
The wine and oil you serve are ours
The estate has twenty hectares of vines and seven thousand olive trees. The red on the table is our Chianti Colli Fiorentini DOCG, from Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Malvasia and Trebbiano; with the aperitif and fish there is the estate white or the Grifo Rosa rosé, for the toast our Vermentino Spumante Brut, with dessert the Vin Santo. The extra virgin olive oil comes from the estate's own mill, from hand-picked frantoio, leccino, moraiolo and pendolino olives: you'll find it on the bread, the crostini and the meat, not in a souvenir bottle. Wine and oil are in conversion to organic. The toast and the open bar are included; if you want a label other than ours, or cocktails and spirits beyond the standard open bar, we agree it beforehand and put it in writing in the quote, so the final bill holds no surprises.
Dietary needs, children, international guests
We prepare gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan menus and variations for allergies: most Tuscan main courses are already gluten-free, and for the first courses there is a dedicated version. It's organised with a list you send us a few weeks in advance; on the day, every special dish reaches the right table without the guest having to ask. Children have a shorter menu served first, so parents can eat in peace. Menus are printed in English as well as Italian.
Menu tasting and site visit
The menu is agreed with you at a meeting on the estate, course by course; if you would like to taste some dishes beforehand, ask when you request your quote and we'll arrange it according to the season and the kitchen's calendar. Site visits are by appointment: you see the hall, the aperitif rooms, the gazebo and the park, and you talk directly with the person who will follow you through to the wedding day.
What is not included
The list is short: music and photography are quoted separately (we can suggest people who work with us regularly, with no obligation), and the guests' rooms have a separate quote. Everything else, venue, service, aperitif, lunch or dinner, the cake we make, flowers, wines, soft drinks, open bar, the couple's suite, is inside the per-person price. Payment is in two deposits plus the balance. One last thing, better known before than after: exclusive use of the estate is not automatic, because it can host more than one event on the same day. If you want it, ask for it in the quote and have it put in writing.
